Brynn's been a busy young lady as of late.
I have to brag about her for just a minute or two...
... but she will get very embarrassed about this unsolicited attention
and likely be angry with me for telling you just how fabulous she is :-)
(she's a bit shy ... like me ...
and the rest of the children in this home for that matter)
Brynn's been working on this fabulous blanket
at her church youth-night once a week
(a.k.a. Activity Days for fellow LDS readers)
for the past couple weeks.
She toiled over the sewing machine...
... and did her own quilting on an industrial size quilting machine!!!

(A big thank you to a very brave Jill Z. for letting all the girls descend upon her house
AND use her incredible machine - we know Jill through church too.)
So, the first week Brynn cut the strips of fabric.
Week 2 she stitched the strips together.
Week 3 she went to Jill's house for the quilting.
Finally, on week 4 we tackled the binding.
And tonight, she is reading about Helen Keller ...
under her snugly new blanket.
Such a TALENTED girl!
We're so grateful for dedicated and inspired youth leaders.
Brynn's Activity Day leaders are THE BEST!!!
She's a bit of a perfectionist ... so she'd get frustrated with minor mistakes.
I can totally relate. I have a love/hate relationship with sewing too.
I spend too much time ripping all the stitches out ...
because it wasn't PERFECT the first time.
But I still love the creative aspect of it -
so much so that I keep at it when time permits.
Also, Brynn's 3rd grade class at school took a field trip to the
Country Music Hall of Fame
in downtown Nashville last week.

Before the big field trip day arrived,
they wrote songs that they then recorded
in the recording studios on site at the Hall of Fame.
Then the museum staff picked one song to be performed
(by staff at the Hall of Fame) in front of everyone
on the stages right there in that famous building ...
... and guess whose song was picked for that special performance?
That's right - it was Brynn's song.
(She takes after her Daddy in that regard ...
he was writing songs at her age too ...
and even cut a couple albums in his teens and early 20s.)
Brynn was sooooo thoroughly embarrassed.
We're anxiously awaiting a copy of the CD they
made during their visit so we can hear her song
(we were not in any way involved in this project -
she did it all on her own)!!!
We love you Brynn...
thanks for letting me brag on you a little bit tonight
(don't be angry with me ... remember
I'm taking you to the Predators hockey game -
so we're even now, right? wink)

Hi! lm really impressed over that blanket, and of course of the song too. Me too are sewing but lm not that good in finishing the work that l start if it is too big...so l have a lot of ufo`s (UnFinishedObjects)!! ;) So seing her work inspired me to do something with my ufo`s!! And l am a perfectionist too.. Hugh Hilde
