A Party fit for a Princess!!!

Welcome to Princess Annika's Birthday Party!!!

This was the first party that Annika would let us throw for her
(other than the usual family celebration)...
remember, this little girl is bashful.

She would only allow me to invite 4 friends...
and even then she was a little overwhelmed by it all!!!

Daddy was so kind to play the part of the butler
(every princess' palace has a butler right?)
And he looked mighty fine in his tux -
I haven't seen that tux come out of the closet since
we moved from Vegas.
(will daddy's brothers ever let him live this down?)

We kicked the festivities off with
a ROYAL PHOTO SHOOT!

... followed by a
very fancy TEA PARTY!

The menu included chocolate covered strawberries,
dainty cookies, fingers sandwiches, fruit salad,
pink cake heart-shaped cake with pink frosting,
an assortment of cheese and crackers,
and warm cocoa with marshmallows (of course)!

Then all the little princesses in attendance
decorated beautiful frames to display
the aforementioned photos.

Such creative little ladies ;-)

We wrapped up the event by letting each of the girls decorate their own
pink heart-shaped cup cakes.

I decided not to micro-manage and instead let them
decorate to their little hearts' content.

I'm not sure the cupcakes were edible
(with 3 inches of frosting / sprinkles)
but they looked GREAT!!!

I asked Annika that evening how she liked her party
and she responded "Well .... it was beautiful"
(WHEW - mission successful)!!!

We love you Annika!!!

I had so much fun serving you and your lovely friends today.
I feel so honored that Father in Heaven has entrusted you into my care.

And now let me quickly document this fun memory
that you and I will both soon forget:

Every time I tell you that I love you,
you of course respond "I love you too, Mommy"
to which I respond "but I LOVE YOU MORE"
(meaning I love you more than you love me)

You think that over and decide that it means I love you more than ANYONE
.... and then you thoughtfully respond -
"well .... what about Per" (pronounced Perw
... with a W on the end instead of an R ...
because we all know how 4 year-olds struggle with that R sound).

I giggle and assure you that I love PER too ...
but I still love you, and Per, and Torby, and Brynn, and Kyra...

...MORE than you could ever love me!!!!!
