Basketball Anyone?

Our weekend in review ...

Basketball,

Basketball,

Basketball,

and then MORE Basketball.

The Christmas Season has passed
(though you wouldn't know it upon entering our house -
some day I might actually get around to taking the holiday decor down)
and Basketball Season is upon us.

It started Friday night with a game for Per with his men's league at the church...
then continued Saturday morning with Jolien's game
(pardon the horrid pics taken with a cell phone)

Jolien is quite aggressive on the court ...
which means she fits right in with our family...
though Per doesn't believe he's an overly aggressive player ;-)
Seriously .... I mean SERIOUSLY????

Anders joined the young men's church ball team
and his game followed Jolien's on Saturday morning.
He is a rebounding maniac.

The PROOF - well that would be him pulling down the rebound
 in the picture below.
I don't know where he picked up the Kung Fu move
with his leg there ... maybe he's been watching
too much Kung Fu Panda with Kyra???

Next, it was Torby's turn to light up the court.
He has a special skill in setting screens/picks...
just like his MOM.
(I must admit, I was still setting screens and picks
on Co-ed basketball night
when I was 5 months pregnant with Torby
but then some PUNK knocked me flat on my stomach
one night and that also knocked some sense into me
... so I sat out the rest of the season).

Now a little riddle before I seek some rest for my weary head.

Coach's Gift/Plaque:$25

Photo of your offspring that makes you laugh until your insides hurt

PRICELESS....

Ah, the 2007 season photo...
The best thing about this photo is that Torby wasn't goofing around.
This was his honest-to-goodness attempt at a casual, unrehearsed smile.
Torby is about as photogenic as his mother
(I'll share photos in a future post - PROOF)...
and we had been "coaching" him about relaxing
and putting forth a NATURAL smile...
And this is what we got for all our efforts!!!!

Good thing Torby has a great sense of humor
(and he knows much worse pictures of his mom exist)
so he laughs along with us at this priceless gem.

  1. That's so funny! Torby is such a little stud! I actually tried to track you down after church when he passed the sacrament for the 1st time! I just happened to have my camera with me and such events should be documented right!? Maybe we can reenact it....
