We woke up to an inch of pristine white snow this morning. School would surely have been cancelled today had it only been a school day. Remember, an inch of snow in Nashville is equivalent to 10 feet of snow in Montana in terms of weather hazards. The driveway is also a solid sheet of ice which gives the children hope that we might not be able to make it out to church today but alas we have the ever reliable hummer (kids - DOH!!!).
Anders is soaking up warm rays of sunshine on the beaches of Hawaii right now with his peers in the International Exchange Program. Snow or sunny beaches? Navigating the ice or snorkeling at the site of the Molokini Crater? Hmmmmm, I think it's fair to say we're pretty jealous of Anders' current tropical bearings.
On that note, I thought I'd share a couple pics from a trip we took to Maui a few years back. We were a typical family with 2.5 children back then (the cat counting as the 0.5th child) ... prior to Annika and Kyra joining the family. Simpler times for us, but the indescribable joy that Annika and Kyra have brought into our lives more than makes up for the more complicated existence we now tread ;-)
And now for the promised photos ...
A very handsome Little Bear
(Torby loves that nickname)...

... our lovely Island Princess, Brynn...
(P.S. she deplores princesses now..
I'm sure she would want me to make that very clear)

Per enjoying the warm Hawaii waters with Brynn.
(Torby recalls saving Brynn from the undertow
of an enormous tidal wave on this trip.
He wanted me to throw that in here
... he's working on his HERO image).

Zan and Brynn patiently waiting for entrance into the Luau
(mmmmm pit roasted pig for DINNER)

And the following photo gives you a peek
into my husband's twisted sense of humor.
After taking the above photo
he asked me to scoot a little to the right ...
a little more ...
right there, perfect....
CLICK.

Nice one babe!
By the way, your not so subtle suggestion
that I am disabled, incapacitated,
disadvantaged, crippled, infirm,
invalid, euphemistic, physically challenged
or otherwise differently abled
is NOT politically correct in this day and age.
But you don't really care about that -
now do you?
Per, I love you as you are...
now stop laughing - it's not THAT funny.
