Easy on the Eyes

Another weekend ... another little league football game but this time we traveled up north to Gallatin, TN.  I really don't mind these weekend expeditions as they give us an opportunity to get out and further explore this fine state.

I've mentioned in previous posts how much I love the trees of TN - especially in the Autumn time - but I think the photo below really captures the beauty of this area.  I love it when the tree canopies meet overhead creating a tunnel effect as you pass through them.  Reminds me of my college days at BYU and riding my bike to and from classes down those tree lined streets of Provo, Utah.

We drive the fabulous stretch of road pictured above nearly every day and I must admit I never tire of it!  I feel truly blessed to live in this country and grateful to a loving Father in Heaven for providing us this little bit of paradise on earth.

We also passed through Nashville on our way up North.  Isn't it serene ... nestled there on the Cumberland River?  The building on the far left side of the picture is referred to as The Batman Building by locals ... for those of you interested in a little Nashville trivia.

As I glanced over my shoulder at the LOUD yet ANGELIC children in the back seat I had a flashback to 1993 when Per and I were childless newlyweds.  Back then, I would often glance into the back seat of our fine Geo Metro (can you say "aluminum can on wheels") and say to Per "Can you imagine that someday we'll look into that back seat and our CHILDREN will be staring back at us".  Then we would wonder what they would look like, how many boys vs. girls would grace our home, and etc.  We even took it so far as to morph two photos of ourselves on the computer to see what our future offspring might look like  and let me tell ya - the outcome of that experiment was very, VERY scary.

Fortunately, we were blessed with a beautiful and healthy little family!
Have I told you kids how much you mean to me?  I love you!!!

But I'd have to say the best view of all on the drive up was this fine specimen ...

Now that's what I call "easy on the eyes".

Love you babe ... 15 years and counting!!! :-)
